Our Outing

We didn't do much today. We just hung out, and I napped some. It was a nice relaxing day. Josh was supposed to cook these steaks - he found this awesome recipe - so we had to go buy the necessary items.

The closest grocery store is Super Walmart. Not to say that we don't have two others that are pretty freakin close, but this one happens to be practically next door. Now, we do not like shopping at Walmart. It is always so freakin busy, they have a bajillion checkout stands and only a handful of cashiers. We just don't like going there. BUT, it was the fastest route today.

Today wasn't too crowded since most people were out of town or at the lake. It seemed like it was going to be a pretty decent experience. Until we were about halfway through and as we neared the end of the aisle this Mother and 2 daughters tag team were blocking us. Their shopping cart was to the left, daughter 1 was on the ground choosing which product to get, mother was between daughter 1 and the shopping cart. At this time, I didn't realize daughter 2 existed.

After standing and being patient next to our cart for about a minute (maybe not quite that long) I just started walking towards the cart and looked at mother and said excuse me as I kept walking towards her. She moved the cart, Josh followed behind me, and we moved on to the next aisle. Now, at the next aisle Josh stops to check something out so I am standing behind him. About the time I decide to go around him to go pickup some pasta, who passes us? The tag team! Yup, they pass us then start draggin their damn feet!! Oh, this is when I realized there was daughter 2, because shes driving cart #2 next to mom and daughter 1 who are driving cart #1. So, they are all blocking the whole aisle. I walked up behind daughter 2 and was on her heels. She finally noticed me and moved ahead. I was highly irritated at this point. Luckily they went towards the back and we were headed towards the front so we didn't have to deal with them again.

Fast foward to the checkout line. We get in one of the shorter lines and wait. And wait. The cashier behind ours had her light off, but people would go to her anyway and she would check them out. We didn't do that. I don't do that. So, we are still waiting right? Yea. Still waiting. We get to put some of our stuff on the belt and then wait. For some reason he kept turning off the belt. Umm HELLO! Last time I checked all those belts had an electronic eye! An eye that sees the item and stops the belt for you!!!! So, we finally get all our stuff on the belt and he finally starts checking our groceries. About 20 minutes later - and only 58 items (the receipt counts it for ya) - we are done. Let see, that makes his scan time about 2.9 items per minute. Whoa! He's gonna go far.

NOW, before I end, I must tell you the good thing. We got all that stuff for $97 - thats at least $50 less than at a grocery store. I'm thinkin' that made it almost worthwile. Especially since two of the items were T-Bone steaks! Oh and I got the new Scrubbing Bubbles Flushable Toilet Wipes. I'm thinking these are gonna be the best thing ever!!
