That place sucked! First, the waitress took our order, and didn't write anything down. Five minutes later she comes back and asks me if I ordered the Etoufee. As she walked off, I told Shelby and Josh, "I bet she forgets my cup of gumbo." And. She did. So here's run down of the food situation there:
Fried Alligator Appetizer - no flavor, meat tasted like it was freezer burned, sauce was weird
Gumbo - The gumbo and the rice came in two separate bowls, which was odd to me, but okay. Maybe some people don't like a lot of rice and other might like more. So I noticed the gumbo looked like vegetable soup. It tasted like it too. I got Josh to try it and he agreed.
Shrimp/Crawfish Etoufee - Was white! The sauce they used was a clear-ish white sauce. I have never had etoufee like this before. Upon tasting, it had NO, I mean ZERO, flavor. I added enough Hot Sauce to make it pink, yes it was now pink, to give it some sort of flavor.
Boiled Shrimp - Josh said some of his shrimp tasted over boiled, and others tasted under boiled. His potatoe looked scary. It obviously wasn't boiled with the shrimp because it had NO, I mean ZERO, flavor.
Andouille Sausage - served with Josh's shrimp. Was not f'n Andouille Sausage. It was smoked sausage. (this is how Razzoo's serves it too). Do they think we're stupid?
Blackened Mahi Mahi Pasta - I think Shelby said it was okay, but she expected it to have a little more kick to it.
Bread Pudding with Bourbon Sauce - Where the HELL was the bourbon sauce? You know when you order those brownies at other restaurants, how they bring it covered with caramel, chocolate sauce, ice cream, whipped cream, and a cherry? Yea! That shit was on top of my fucking bread pudding! WTF?
Oh, and a noteworthy item - Josh wanted Crimson VooDoo beer, and they didn't carry it.
And to top it off - no Tabasco on the tables. Instead, Louisiana Hot Sauce.
NEVER will I eat there again. We didn't eat the boiled crawfish, but considering all the other crap we were served, I think I know how it tastes.
Oh, there was ONE good thing about this place. When we walked in, they had some Wayne Toups playing!
